According to recent research 38% of couples prefer a low-key dinner to a slap-up meal, so KFC have decided to trial a table service this weekend.

Swapping bouquets for buckets couples will be offered an experience quite like no other you'd expect at KFC, which includes linen napkins, flowers, a silver candelabra and even your very own soft drink sommelier.

The trial will be taking place in the UK's original KFC in Preston, which opened in 1965.

The restaurant, situated on Fishergate (high street), has been dubbed KFC's most romantic UK restaurant after it was discovered that Bob and Pat Fogg, who have been married for 44 years met there. After meeting in 1965 they have shared a weekly date night in the Preston restaurant ever since.

With Brits spending on average just £13 for Valentine's Day and over 12% of people in this area wanting to have fast food this Valentine's Day, KFC are expecting to sell 20% more buckets this weekend. Will you be a customer?

As the saying goes 'it's the thought that counts' with 62% of Brits saying effort is more important than an expensive gift, with only 4% considering that important.
