Despite being known as a comedy Mrs Doubtfire could have been a very different story if these newly revealed deleted scenes were included.

The emotional scenes uploaded to YouTube by American journalist and blogger Matthew Keys show how the film dymanic could have changed.

The first extended deleted scene shows Robin Williams as Daniel Hillard making a scene at his daughter's Spelling Bee Competition.

He arrives late to find that the family haven't saved a seat for him, daughter Lydia gets distracted and loses the competition. As they're leaving the school Lydia is clearly upset by the situation and as Daniel tries to apologise Lydia says, "Why can't you and mum just pretend to be happy?"

This scene is thought to have been cut from just after the kids find out the identity of Mrs Doubtfire.

The second deleted scene (starting at 6 mins) shows Daniel turning up at the family home wearing Mrs Doubtfire's clothes.

Ex-wife Miranda (Sally Field) refuses to talk with him dressed like that, so after getting changed the talk quickly turns into a heated argument. The scene shows the children huddling together in a bedroom listening to their parents shouting in the hall.

The scene ends with the kids coming downstairs and Lydia shouting "I hate you both".

This is believed to have been removed from the just after Miranda finds out the identity of Mrs Doubtfire.

Mrs Doubtfire was a hit at the box office in 1993 and won an Academy Award for Best Makeup and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
